Volunteer Days 2022

Calling all volunteers!
 

If you’re interested in helping with setup for The Scandinavian Festival this year, then mark your calendars for these dates! The main help we will need is general work like clean up on booths/windmills, stage setup, painting, and lots of setup of benches, trash bins, canopies, etc.

  • July 9th – 8am-4pm Bleachers setup
  • July 30th – 9am-4pm Booth repairs, General Work
  • August 5th – Festival Park Stage setup
  • August 6th – 9am-5pm Mall Platform Stage and Shade Structure, General Work
  • August 7th – 9am Complete Stage, General Work
  • August 8th – 4:45pm Street Closure, Barrier Setup
  • August 9th – 4:30 pm Archway Stage Setup, General Work
  • August 10th – General Work

Hello. I’d like to know where to meet on July 30th, or any of the other dates, to volunteer?

    Thanks for inquiring Monica! The meeting place is 195 W 5TH Ave in Junction City. The building is white with Scandinavian flags painted on it, it’s know as Fletchall Hall. I am sure there will be people all over the place and it will be easy to figure out where to go. I will update this post with this information. Thanks for pointing out the missing information.

Community Partners- Thank You!

The Junction City Scandinavian Festival is a not-for profit event that is here for the community and local economy. The event is all volunteer operated, but within those facts it can be difficult to get new projects up and running. The Festival has always been a collaboration of good Samaritans and it's part of the magic of the event. This year's projects was a large one and we couldn't have done it without the gracious donation of beautiful lumber from Hull-Oakes Lumber Co. out of Monroe, OR. As well as, the donation of steel and labor from Western Shelter out of Eugene, OR. Thank you for helping us make the event move forward and enrich the experience for our volunteers and our patrons. We cannot express our gratitude enough!

Costume Rental Program

The Junction City Scandinavian Festival desires to make the costume requirements of the event more accessible for those in need. We have decided to launch a rental program for costumes. This costume closet was created to support new vendors so they can meet the costume requirements.
