Whether you want to fulfill work requirements, get school credit, improve your resume or college application, or just connect with others while helping out, we’d love to hear from you.

We work with individuals, high school youth, court-appointed work crews, and organizations such as Girl Scouts, Loyal Order of Moose, and Soroptimist International.

The Sound Shack reconstruction was our largest project most recently. This building controls and operates the sound and lighting for the main stage during the Junction City Scandinavian Festival that’s held in August. We could not function without  it.

Unfortunately, the Sound Shack caught fire in the summer of 2020 and was badly damaged. 2020 was hard for everyone navigating Covid and the forest fires in Oregon and the rest of the country, but in a dim time we had light. Our community stepped up and donated money and supplies towards the repairs and volunteers came to donate their time. We salvaged what we could from the original building and replaced what could not be saved.

We must thank our community for their support and participation. It is you that make the Scandinavian Festival the special thing it is. This project was hard work and a sad loss of history, but it provided a much needed reminder that this community is still connected, even when we had to distance.

Specific Group Information

If your goal is to earn school credit, please bring your school paperwork with you when you come so we can sign off on it. If you’d like to be on call for opportunities as they arise, just let us know and we’ll put your contact info on file.

If you’re required by court to complete a service project, the city will provide us with your contact information and number of hours needed. From there, you’re expected to contact our Operational Vice President so we can set a project schedule with you. After your project is done, we’ll sign off on the hours you’ve completed, so you can validate your service with the court.

If you’re part of a nonprofit organization that uses Fletchall Hall free of charge for meetings or practices, your group is required to do a service project.

Here’s how it works. At the beginning of the fiscal year, you’ll fill out a usage form. Later, we’ll assign tasks to your group. Our Board will support you by preparing the space and supplies that you’ll need to complete your service project, so you can just come in and do your part.

We schedule most of these service projects in or around Festival. If it’s during Festival hours, costumes will be required. See our costume guide for information and resources.
